I have started a Sparrow DNA Project at Family Tree DNA (http://www.familytreedna.com). The purpose of the project is to use DNA testing to determine what genetic relationship the various Sparrow families have with one another. DNA is an exciting new tool for genealogical research so let's use it along with our traditional research to put the puzzle together! Males of direct Sparrow descent are eligible; or if you are a female and have a male Sparrow relative, ask him to take the test as your representative. The project will concentrate on Sparrows of the United States, but any Sparrow from anywhere may join. Reduced pricing for project members is available for the 12, 25, and 37 marker tests. However, I recommend the 25 or 37 marker tests because you are more likely to find a close match. I've wanted to do this for a long time and have finally taken the plunge by having my brother tested, setting up the project, and serving as group administrator. Please join me!
