John Sparrow married Catherine Lassiter/Lasater in 1821 in Rutherford County, TN. He is on the 1830 census living near some of the Lassiters. The 1830 Census of Rutherford Co TN Western district appears as follows:
Page 293A JNO. B. SPARROW, (last listing on the page)
2 males under 5, 1 male 5-10, 1 male between 30-40, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5-10, 1 female 20-30.
Above them is NEWTON MOORE 1 male 20-30, 1 female under 5, 1 female 20-30.
On page 294A HARDY LASSTER (first listing on the page)
1 male 20-30, 1 male 60-70, 1 female 10-15, 2 females 15-20, 1 female 50-60.
I believe this John Sparrow is perhaps the father or other relative of my gg-grandfather, John Sparrow who married Merinda Cato in Pulaski County, Arkansas, but I cannot find anything on the Sparrow family in TN. I know that some of the Lassiters came from NC. Were the Sparrows originally in NC also, and does anyone know anything about John B. Sparrow who moved to Rutherford County, TN? I have seen the name spelled Sparr. I'm at a dead end and would appreciate any information at all and be glad to share. Please help!
