Thank you, Cecil. I have been adding some information from my mother's books about the genealogy of her mother's family into my FTM. During the 1800's there were a great many Sparks/Caddell marriages. The Sparks were from one very large family out of Nacogdoches...they started with William Sparks (1761-1848) and Mary Fielder (abt. 1757-1830).My great grandmother was a Caddell and one of her daughters (my grandmother) married a cousin of John William's wife....JuliaElizabeth Collins. I was trying to find out if the John William Sparks was a member of my large Sparks clan or if he was attached to another family.
I don't have Thomas Allen Sparks but, interestingly, the name Parmley ties into my Collins group. Julia Elizabeth Collins Sparks' brother married Mary Frances Parmley and one of her half-brothers married Margaret Pearl Parmley. That really ties a bow on my twisty-turny family tree. Now I'll have to see how the 3 Parmley females are connected.
Are you part of this family? Of so I'd like to talk with you and see if there are any more surprises. Don't you just love the u-turns that pop up in genealogy? If you are interested, I would gladly share my information with you. Thanks again. Life remains interesting!
