Mary Emma Sparks
I am trying to get a little more information on Mary Emma Sparks, born 1864 in Pennsylvania. She married Frederick H. Bacon about 1883.They had one son, Harry Hiram Bacon, born 9 Dec 1884, in Grinnell, Poweshiek, Iowa.Frederick died 5 April 1889 in Grinnell.I do not know what happened to Mary Emma. The son, Harry, was with the grandparents, Joshua Crane Bacon and Mary Jane, in the 1900 census in Iowa.He was then 15 years old.
My assumption is that she must have remarried and left the son with the grandparents. She was young when Fred died, so that would be the logical conclusion. However, it is also possible that she passed away, as well. She is not buried in the Chester Township Cemetery with the rest of the Bacon family, so it is more likely that she remarried.
The Bacon line is my line, but I would like to tie off this lose end.
Any one have any information?
