The Catalog of the Philadelphia Antique Show, 2009, on p. 91 pictures a fine miniature portrait of Jared Sparks (1789-1866) as a young man when he was an editor and historian, and likely before he became President of Harvard University from 1849 to 1853. This fine portrait should be made known to the Sparks family. I am scanning it in case any of his descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the Sparks family ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by the family. It may not have extensive genealogy value, but it certainly does have a whole lot of family, artistic, and historic value. My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. Please respond by emailing me directly and not by posting a reply on this genforum site, which I might not see. If it were a portrait of a Pease scholar, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me. Bill Pease, Lancaster, PA Notify Administrator about this message?
