Colleen, my great grandfather was Charles L. Spann, and I have his Civil War Record and Sarah I. Spann's Widow's Pension. I also wrote an article in the Izard Co. AR. Historian July 1980 about the Spann Family.
Charles L. was born Dec. 20 1834 and enrolled in the Civil War from Izard Co. AR. and served In CO. G-27 AR INF Regiment from 1801 to Nov. 15 1864 when he was honorably discharged.
He served under Shaler.
Sarah I filed a widow's pension application # 5672 Mar 11 1901 and it was approved 8-11-1903.
