"Casual Detachment" F Troop, 11th Cav
Posted by: Peter Holley (ID *****3993) Date: April 30, 2013 at 09:22:48

In my great-grandfather's papers, it shows that he served in the Philippines in Casual Detachment, F Troop of the 11th Cavalry.

What was a Casual Detachment - did it fall under F Troop, or did it have detached duty away from the troop?
Where could I find the history of the detachment (or F Troop for that matter)

thanks much!
