Malachi Griffin 50th Iowa Infintry
Searching on how to find more information on a Great Grand Uncle that served in S/A war in the 50th Iowa Inf.He enlisted June 20, 1898 in Keokuk, Iowa and was discharged November 30, 1898. I want to know if he saw action or not, as I have found record of him being in and out of U.S. National Homes for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers for various ailments.
My great grandfather also served in the S/A war, and his record in the National Homes for Disable Vol. Soldiers shows him enlisting June 18, 1898 in Keokuk, Iowa and serving in the 20 U.S. Inf. and was discharged October 24, 1898 in Ft. Leavenworth Kansas.
If anyone has any information on these 2 soldiers or can tell me how to research them, I would greatly appreciate it.
