Hello there!
I searched on Ancestry earlier and did find most of what you sent in post here.I am searching for a friend and since I am from California he thought it would be easier for me.:-)But this is my first go at finding info on someone in the Sp/Am War.
My friend wanted to know date of death and how he died/what was the cause but I needed to do a little back tracing first...interesting stuff.
I didn't know that the "CivWarGenIndex" also had records for the Sp/Am War too, thanks for that!:-)I did see his discharge info!:-)I figured the Pacific Branch meant just that but wasn't sure, so thank you!:-) I saw his enlistment record but didn't notice his domestic occupation etc...must have been when my husband was asking me something.I'll take a look at it tomorrow.I didn't get his pension info so many thanks for that!I've got the Yountville info...I have his grave info as well but I guess I'll have to write to the vital stats office in California for a death cert... This is just facsinating history.
I love helping research other people's ancestors.I don't remember ever learning much about the Spanish American War in school. So this is a history lesson as well.Thank you for the info I missed and the info I had yet to find, I am as they say hooked!:-)Big hugs and thanks from a transplanted Californian in Sweden.
Lynette
