40th Volunteer Infantry

My grgrandfather, Charles Makemson, was in Co. Mo., 40th US Volunteer Infantry. Supposedly was in action at San Miguel Bay in 1900, then at Mindanao. I can't find much on this unit or a roster.

Anyone have suggestions?
