Pretty sure he is the same Kit Moore that I find in the censuses, the family moved from IL to Calhoun County IA by May 1880 and family in IA 1880 census. But it looks like Kit is listed as Kitty a female/daughter of Wm S and Sarah J. Moore. The same family are listed in the IA State Census for 1885 and 1895 with Kit listed as male in family for both censuses.
1910 living in MT and 1920 living in ID census both he works for the Railroad. He probably worked for them before serving in SpAm war and living in MS for his job.
Looks like he filed for and granted a Veteran's Pension on (what looks like) April 16, 1920 (# after 192 unclear)in Idaho, no wife/widow listed and he was single in 1910 and 1920 too.
