Thomas Kral, Veteran of Spanish-American War
I am not a Kral researcher, but I found the following obit
in my Great-grandmother's handbag, perhaps it will help someone in the Kral research :
Spanish Civil War Veteran Dies
Sweetwater (Texas) March 22 ,1953
Thomas T Kral,79, veteran of the Spanish-American War, died
at 2:55am Sunday in the Sweetwater Hospital where he had been hospitalized about a week. he had been in failing health for the last two years.
Mr Kral, a resident of Sweetwater since 1946, fought in the Spanish-American War and was wounded in battle in
Cuba July 1st 1894.
He was born March 12,1874, in Uniontown, Pa.
He married the former Annie F Hazel, July 14th 1903 in Greensburg PA. The couple moved to Texas in 1908,settling in Fisher County near Longworth. He farmed in that community until 1946 when the family moved to Sweetwater.
Mrs Kral died March 25, 1950.
Mr Kral was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the First Methodist Church of Sweetwater.
Funeral services are set for 2:30 pm Monday at Longworth Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Patterson, pastor of the Roby Methodist Church ,offciating. He will be assisted
by the Rev. Timothy Guthrie, pastor of First Methodist Church of Sweetwater, and the Rev. D.D. Edens, pastor of the Longworth Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Longworth Cemetery under the direction of the Cate-Spencer Funeral Home. Roby Masonic Lodge will direct graveside services.
Surviors are five sons, Edward of Amarillo, Robert and Thomas both of Sweetwater,Ted of Longworth and Ben of Fort Worth. Six daughters, Miss Edith Kral of Pampa,Miss Irene Kral of Oklahoma City,Miss Sarah Kral of Big Springs,Miss Anna Hastings of Amarillo,Mrs F.G. Baumgardner of Tulsa,Ok. amd Mrs. Bruce McCain of Roby.

My Great-Grandmother was Mrs. Jacob(Jake)Ratliff, her first name was Effie. The Ratliff family lived in Fisher County in the same area as the Kral Family.
