If W Lovell was a sailor and died in the Spanish American war in Sept of 98, it most likely would have been from illness or accident.I have a book that list every Soldier and sailor buried at one time in Cuba or Puerto Rico, (621 combat and sickness) there where less than 800 combat killed deaths, over 2,500 or something close to thatfrom sickness. And there is no one named Lovell, or any name close itlist 4 sailors and none are him.there where some sailors buried at sea, who died after the war ended (Aug 98) from the USS Oregon I think?, but the navy suffered very few death (less than 25) and they did not suffer the dysentery and yellow fever like the Army did.As I had mentioned before he could have been Merchant Marine, orpossibly Coast guard.
