Past Voices: Letters Home (http://pastvoices.com/ ) has a fascinating letter from Erwin Morse to his sister while serving in the Navy during the Spanish-American War, 1898

Erwin vividly describes his experiences during a battle:

"The Detroit immediately opened fire and at 5:26 a.m. the fleet bombardment was something terrible..." Erwin Alden Morse, Puerto Rico, 13 May 1898

For anyone interested this is a terrific letter to read!
