What is the "average length of time for Pension files?
Perhaps someone else has had this problem. In May of 04, I requested my grandfather's pension files from the Dept. of Veterans Affairs in St. Louis, MO.They sent me a letter in August of 04 saying they had requested them from the Federal Archives & that it could take up to "60 days to receive the file."They stated that no further correspondence on my part was neccessary as my request was on file. It's certainly been more than 60 days & on March of this year, I sent them another letter asking why the delay.I also included their letter which had told me a wait of 60 days should be expected.I have received no reply to my last communication.Am I being too impatient or is this a normal thing when requesting pension files? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
