Maybe you can answer this question for me. In my great grandmothers obit it stated that she was a very active member of the United Spanish American War Veterans. If her brother Thomas was a SAW veteran would that qualify her to join that association? I was hoping to find Thomas in the 1930 census and see is he was listed as a veteran, but I haven't been able to find him. Maybe he was deceased by 1930. Anyway, thanks so much for your help. I guess I need to request his pension records.
