I have recently begun a search for information on my GrGrandfather who died of Malaria in his 30's leaving his wife and 6 young children.I learned that there are great SAW sources when searching via google ( just listed the info you gave and there it was).
Below are links that will point you to a couple of Pennsylvania sites listing the Ninth Infrantry and names your relative, information about the Ninth Infrantry during the SAW at two web sites including one that shows a photograph.You can also order information specific to his service via the NARA.Enjoy getting to know your family as I have mine.

Copies of Military Service Records are $17.
Copies of Full Pension Application Files are $37.
Copies of Pension Documents Packet are $14.75.
Copies of Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files are $17.25.
