O'NEAL, DAVID
My O'Neals originated in either North Carolina or Tennessee (I have
Tennessee, however further back they may have in NC) and some in later
generations migrated to Texas.
My grandfather was William E.P. O'Neal. He was known as Price.I think the
E stood for Edward as that was my father's middle name.
William married Vena (a/k/a Veenie) Galloway.
Their children:
Loretta
Betty (probably Elizabeth)
William Patrick
Howard
Carrol Edward (my dad)
Now, for the elusive one--David O'Neal,He was born about 1860, possibly
earlier. He married Laura Morgan or Taylor (she went by both) in Loudon
County, Tennessee.
After the marriage he falls off the face of the earth.
Their children were:
Laura L.
Margaret
Minnie
William E.P.
On Laura's Guion Miller Roll application, she states that she was a widow. This was in 1909.She lived in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee
I also found a David O'Neal on the volunteer roster of Knox County,
Tennessee for the Spanish American War.I sent for the record and it stated that he was dischrged to Atlanta.
One other thing, Laura's handwriting made his name look like Daria, so he
may be on a census or something as that.
Ring any bells?
