John Wills in the Phillipines

My Grandfather, John Wills, was a member of the 2nd Tennessee Infantry and also the 31st Infantry. He fought in the Phillipines in approximately 1899, or 1900. Our records are unclear if he fought during the Spanish American War or immediately after during the Phillipines Insurrection, which was a direct product of the war. After his return to the States he was appointed to become a 2nd Lieutenant on September 11, 1901. He met my grandmother Lena Haas at Ft. Thomas, Kentucky and they married. They lived for a short time in Nashville, Tennessee, my grandfather's hometown, and then moved to Reading, Ohio. Reading is a suburb of Cincinnati. He lived there until his death in 1948. Does anyone have information on either the 2nd Tennessee or the 31st Infantry? Is anyone a relative of the Wills from Nashville. My Grandfather had six brothers and I don't know anything about any of them.
