The Union has been started by a teachter in Spangenberg. This teacher was interested in genealogy . He not only founded the Union in the end of 5oth , but also gathered a lot of informations about the different branches of the family. When this teacher died, the Union could not find anyone, who would contiue with the Spangenberg archive. As far as I know all the files are been stored a the townhall until someone has the interest to continue. I you have questions about your ancesters you may get in contact with the town. The next meeting is in May 2001. The Union publishes a little newapaper with a small english edition. For a small fee you can become a member of the Union. They love to hear from Spangenberg all over the world. Why not write a short note and use the opporunity of this newspaper for your questions.If you have further questions you better e-mail me directly because I am not surfing the internet that often.
