My grandfather and Grandmother came from Spain to NY in 1920
My GF's name was Camilo Pedro del Cano,i dont know my GM's maiden name
they were about 20 when the arrived, they came from the Castillian area of spain
i know they both had brothers and sisters, but i never thought to ask them , before they passed away
i know the Spanish called J.S> el cano, and they named the training ship odf the Spanish Navy after him
But according to Antonio Pigifella, the Italian who travelled with Magellan, and documented the trip, J.S. signed his nams del Cano
there was also an article in National Geographic, that showed the 'arms' of
J.S. awarded by the king of spain
