Hello:

I am trying to find out if Cavalda might be a Spanish surname.

My ancestor Thomas Christian Cavalda lived in Copenhagen, Denmark about 1715-1716.

Cavalda is not a Danish name. I have found a few instances of the name in US records and in both cases the people were from Spain.

Is Cavalda a Spanish name? If so, any ideas about the origin of the name?
