1900 census location Salognecs/Sologneca

The 1920 New York census has a family listed as immigrated from Salogneca/Solognecs/Salognica, etc. The writing is not clear for each letter. The language spoken was Spanish. Can anyone tell me where this was? In the early 1900s was it in Spain or was it in one of their territories or states? Thank you.
