Jewsish blood line?? Betancourt, Canary Islands

The surname should be spelt as Betancourt... Darn I hope someone can help me out on this .... The Betancourt that came to Cuba came early, and there is mention that many emigrants left Spain because of the Spanish Inquisition and the quess that there may have been Jewish blood in the line...
Does anyone have any information about this??
