I have Joseph Southworth b ca 1730, poss. in VA but also poss. in NY; md Elizabeth Titzard (b ca 1732, d/o Leonard & Cashey Ritt) ca 1750. Had a son Leonard b ca 1750 VA, md Jemima Bennett, b ca 1752 OH (?), md ca 1773 Baltimore, MD. Had 2 sons, James b ca 1802; Joseph Kilpatrick, b Sep 1828 OH (from 1900 census, wh says fa b VA, mo b OH). Have had no luck tracing back before Joseph. There is a John Southworth found in Phila, PA, records from 1684-1709, but have no idea if he is connected or not. Have corresponded with Derre (Southworth) Maybury, who descends from same line. She has info indicating that Leonard's father was b NJ and mo b NY (Titzard). Have not confirmed this. (Timing on some of these families is suspect--e.g., Jemima would have been 76 when Joseph Kilpatrick was b!)
