Our DNA Project website has been updated to reflect DNA test results from many sources (see the Misc. page). As a result, we can begin to make some educated guesses as to family relationships although actual confirmation must wait until we have gathered more pedigrees and tested more male descendants in the Southard and Southworth lines. Any similar spelling is welcome to join our project. As most of you know, one problem is that many families have changed their name from Southard to Southworth or from Southworth to Southard. This certainly clouds the genealogy, but DNA testing can help clarify and confirm, or disprove, the traditional paper trail. If you or any Southards or Southworths you know have tested with National Geographic/Genographic or with SMGF, please let me know so we can include your results in our project. If you are looking for a unique Christmas gift, why not give a DNA test? The results will live long into the future and benefit future as well as present family researchers. Please visit our website for more information and frequent updates: www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/s/southworth. Be sure to check all the pages for information of interest (tabs are across the top of the page). Or write to me with any questions. My position as project administrator is purely voluntary. This is not a commercial venture. My Christmas wish is for all family researchers to experience new breakthroughs in the coming year. DNA testing can help make this wish come true. Best regards, Doris Wheeler, a Southard/Southworth descendant and project administrator Notify Administrator about this message?
