My grandparents Henry & Elizabeth (nee Bess Weltner)Southmayd were born in Ohio and are buried in Ferncliff Cemetary in Springfield, Ohio, along with other Southmayds. I believe my great-grandparents, Frank E. and Orlena Beckwith Southmayd, are buried there. I'm not sure about my great-great grandfather Henry Southmayd. I have to check on the names of all my grandfathers siblings. I know there was Orlena, Ed, Ellsworth and that they all lived in Ohio and raised families there. My grandparents met at the Ohio Department of Health in Columbus, Ohio where they worked and were married in 11/1917. My grandparents moved from Ohio to White Plains, NY in 1926, when my grandfather started working for the Commonwealth Fund.
