Ms. Twombly,

We share some ancestory....

Here is what I found:

S.B. Davis Jr (my GGranfather)was the Son of S.B. Davis (b.1839) and Harriet Southmayd Woodward (b 1840) He had a sister, Rachel Davis, who was born in Conn. (She married Henri de Magnin)

They were originally from Middletown, Middlesex Co., Connecticut

Harriet was the Daughter of William Woodward (1793-1880) and Elizabeth Green Southmayd (1797-1890)(married 1824)
She had a sister, Julia Maria Woodward.

William Woodward was the son of Moses Woodward (1761-1804) and Lucena Page. Moses was a Revolutionary war vet., in Capt. Issac Sergeant's Company, Backus' Conn. Light Horse (Cavalry) He then became the publisher of the 1st newspaper in Middlesex County.

Elizabeth G. Southmayd was the daughter of William Southmayde, Jr (1763-1856) and Desire [Desiah] Clay (1763-1835) (married 12/26/1786)

William Southmayd,Jr. was the son of William Southmayd (1735-1811) and Elizabeth Green. William Sr. was a Revolutionary War vet. serving in the Connecticut Militia.

I'm still lookng for more....
