John Southey of Culm valley/Blackdown Hills, Devon

I am interested in the Southey Family of the Culm valley/Blackdown hills of North-east Devon.

In particular I am interested in the parentage of John Southey who married Elizabeth Potter and had a daughter Elizabeth. The younger Elizabeth married William Corner on 1st March, 1803 at Culmstock. This couple were two of my Great-great-great-grandparents.

So far I have been made aware of three differing ancestries of John - so I would be grateful for further verifiable information that could clarify the situation.
