Thank you Richard and Jimmie.

Friends,

I was at the Archives this week and was looking at the 1st Ala Cav.
"books" (this before I got your note, Richard). I found where Company M
went to Cairo Ill. in March 29(?) 1864. They left from Memphis. I think
the name of the steamer was the "Westmoreland".

Some of the families left in 1863 for Ill. ? If so, could the
"Westmoreland" take up more families in 64? Could there be a passenger
list? Sounds like I'm fishin' !

Thank you for your help.

Dave Frederick
