Jasper Wicker of Hardin County, Tennessee

Jasper Wicker was a Private in the 6th Regiment Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry, Company C. He entered February 5th, 1863 and was discharged July 26th, 1865. I know that at some point he and his wife were in Illinois, because I have his daughter Callie Dona Wicker having been born in Illinois. This is listed on many government documents. But, they never say where in Illinois. So, I thought if I could pinpoint where he would have been stationed when his daughter was born, I could determine where she was born. Callie Dona Wicker is my 4th great-grandmother. Everyone else in that family was born in Tennessee. Ironically, in 2005 I moved to Chicago, never knowing that she was born here. Can someone please help me. I'm not sure where to start, but I feel like I'm geographically in the right location to begin my hunt.

Oh, she was born circa July 27th, 1865 (give it a day or so), which means she was born right around his discharge date.
