Thank you very much, Rick, for saving me $27! (or whatever the cost is now...) I would have been terribly disappointed to have spent so much, and not found out much of any significance... (And sorry about the misplaced posting - I guess I focused more on the "Southern" part of that, thinking that it automatically meant Confederate...
I guess the reason for his short service will never be known... <sigh> I've been SO curious about that for so long!
