James - When I originally saw his name associated with this command I assumed that it was his son. You can imagine my surprise when I saw the actual service record and it specifically said he was 58 years old when he enlisted.
Sorry, I am not aware of any books or articles about the 12th Tenn. Cav. US - I have only seen what is on the internet. Best regards.
