Ishmael, I think you did a great job articulating the reality of the Civil War. Brave men (and women, I've recently discovered) and boys wore the uniform from both sides and fought for principles they believed in. This wasn't a war between the States as is most generally depicted. This was a war that pitted brother against brother. I, and many like me, have southern ancestors who wore the blue uniform and there are many northerners whose ancestors wore the gray. Good guys and bad guys? I don't think so. I honor my ancestors on both sides because they all did what they thought was the right thing to do. Allen
