Kevin,

Do you have a copy of this book? One of my cousins had mentioned it and said that she remembered something about a Susan Shelton from the area of Shelton Laurel leaving at one point and heading to "middle NC".

If you do have a copy of the book, could you look this up for me? I am wondering if there was a general date given for her leaving, and whether it mentioned the names of her parents, etc.

We are working on an ancestor whose mother, Sally Shelton, never married, but just appeared. Her son, Franklin, fought for the Confederacy, but at some point is believed to have deserted and fought for the Union. Some in the family believe the Union theory, but others aren't so sure.

I'm trying to figure out if my Shelton family ties into those in Shelton Laurel.

I'd appreciate any help you could give. I'm going to try to get a copy of the book, but don't know how long that could take.

Thanks,
Ashley
