Daniel Foster, Unionist in E. TN?

Does anyone have the rosters of Union regiments in Tennessee? An ancestor, Kathleen Bates, is seeking to find the unit in which Daniel Foster served. He was from McMinnville County, TN. She hasn't been able to find him in a Confederate outfit but knows he died as a POW in 1862. For more information, see the post from Kathleen which can found below in a string that started last December, "Unionism in East Tennessee." I put this at the top so that it would get more attention.
