Linda,
There probably was a refugee camp in Nashville. From pension files of
soldiers in the 1st Ala. Cav., I know there were such "camps" in Corinth
MS and Memphis TN. Soldiers were assigned to help in these camps, as
well as escort refugees to the North. I would also like to know more on
this.
