A challenge to all Southard, Southworth, Southward, Suthers, etc., descendants: We are all familiar with the clouds surrounding our genealogies back in the mists of the 16th and 17th centuries. We have the technology now to lift those clouds and begin to find answers. Are we all related? Do we descend from a common ancestor? Are our progenitors Thomas Southworth (c. 1548 – 1616) and Rosamond Lister (c. 1565)? There is a way to find out! If some of the male descendants from different branches of these two people (or of their ancestors) who still carry the ancestral name (Southworth, Southard, etc.) would come forward and participate in a DNA test, we can confirm with 99 percent accuracy whether or not they are related and thus answer perplexing questions like these. A family member who wishes to remain anonymous has contributed a sum of money to help offset the cost of DNA testing for those who have a strong paper trial proving their pedigree. If you are or know of a male Southard, Southworth, etc., please visit one of our two websites: www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/s/southworth or www.familytreedna.com/public/southworth-southard. Come on, Cousins! The test is a simple swab of the cheek -- painless, confidential and fraught with possibilities! Let’s put the doubts behind us, once and for all. Write me anytime with questions or comments. Doris Wheeler, a Southard descendant and DNA project administrator Notify Administrator about this message?
