laura, the person who signed the note in adoption file was a D A Gray route 2 Fir lodge Willits California. in 1939. In 1924 Alice Belle Southard was in Cresent City California per another letter that was in file. The letter in 1939 from D A Gray says you have relatives very anxious to meet you The letter in 1924 says on behalf of A B Southard.

The note in 1939 says dearest boy could have been alice or earl. I have no idea who d a Gray is could have been a new husband a son or a son in law or a daughter or an attorney.
I don't believe it was an attorney however. I am not sure if this is the correct way to answer your response to me if not let me know how to answer your responses. Thank You
