Some years ago I found amongst my grandfather's papers, the photos of a number of his fellow soldiers. Since then I have been trying to reunite scans of these photos with the soldiers' families.
Amongst the photos was the war-time studio photo of Lance Corporal William Peter Bossenger, who died on 17 April 1918.
I have had William's photo scanned and would like to email the scan to a family member, in case his family has no surviving photos of him, or would perhaps like to upload it to the Flickr group 'Your Faces of the First World War', a project which allows the public to share their photos of soldiers who died in that war.
Since South Africans who died in action in the First World War are not included in the IWM's 'official' project 'Faces of the First World War', I am keen to encourage others to get involved in the open project.
I am looking for descendants of William's parents, Peter Frederick Bossenger (died 1916) and Emma Isabella Bossenger (died 1930). I have been able to identify the following siblings of William: Gracie Elizabeth (b1892), Gertrude Louisa (b1893), George Alfred (1894-1949), Frank Henry (b1896), Sydney Radcliffe (b1899), Richard Edward (b1901), or Harry Percival (1902-1968).
I would appreciate any information readers of this thread are able to provide.
