Hi Russell

I don't know if you have accessed the information you wanted but if you go to www.myfam.co.za and search for Bubb there is a lot of information. George Bubb was the settler who came to South Africa with the 1820 British Settlers and your family is descended from him. I assume your g/grandmother (Caroline) was the daughter of George Bubb. The 1820 Settler website also has a family tree of George Bubb. If you register for the Rootsweb Eastern Cape mailing list, I know there is a member who is researching Benecke (and I'm sure it is your Benecke family).

My husband is a grandson (x4) of George Bubb.

Regards
Antoinette
