[1] HUNTER, WILLIAM HARRY, 1873-1927
Physician practising in Johannesburg. Married (date? place?) Maude Pistorius, daughter of Hendrik Frederik Ernst Pistorius (who moved to Johannesburg from Pietermaritzburg).
Have since been informed that Maude (Pistorius) Hunter died in or near Johannesburg in 1958.
They are said to have had a daughter Chloris Hunter [Claris?] and a son named Eric Robertson Hunter.
One source says Chloris Hunter married one C. A. Chadwick (no further details; but there is reference to a Claris Yelland, nee Hunter), and that Eric Robertson Hunter married Peggy Scott. An index search shows Eric Robertson Hunter as the surviving spouse of Marguerite Muriel Hunter (born Scott) who died 1946. Eric Robertson Hunter is shown as dying 1964.
There also is a record of an Eric Robson Hunter, who died 1971, whose surviving spouse was Margaret Ann Scott-Simpson Hunter.
"Peggy" tends toward Margaret, but the earlier record is more explicit.
[2] HUNTER, BERTRAM MITCHELL (b. Nov 1882, Edinburgh; d. circa 1967, Natal)
Bertram Hunter was a dentist and traveled to South Africa between 1901 and 1914. He married Constance Amelia Mitcalfe of Durban (born 1906), who survived him. She is shown as a daughter of Mowbray Mitcalfe (1842-1918) and Eveline Frances "Eve" Webster (1871-1943).
Bertram is unusual as a Hunter name. Possible descendant - Ronald Bertram Hunter (no further information)
Would like to hear from any descendants or persons who knew any of these people.
One brother of the above described two remained in Scotland and all other siblings and their widowed mother went to the United States.
