Hi Patricia,
From Sunny Australia,in answer to your question, the correct way to spell WALTERS in the Scottish way is(Whaltragh CLAN OF THE WALTERS) this is also sometimes preceeded by Mac (this only added between the 12th and 15th Centuries) but i dare say that the one would be the correct way.
There are variations of course and this may not be the one you are after.
Another one isWAUTER,WATTER,WEALDHERE,Qualter,Ualtair,Qualtrough
The Irish version is also mabe a way to look.UALTARACH Ireland, UALTAIR. This name was a favourite with the Normans, and was introduced by them into England at the time of the Conquest of 1066.
Well i hope that you will have some luck with this info, please do let me know if you have any other questions!!
Regards
Tony
GERMAN VERSION IS WALDHAR
