Hi Jan,
Edward Vaughan Montagu is my mother's grt-grt uncle so many times removed.I haven't really done the kinship chart.
If you have acess to Burke's "Peerage, Baronetage & Knightage" published in 1953, pgs, 1385-1387, you will find the Manchester/Montagu line completely layed out in print.
Or, if you don't have a Burke's available, the genealogical information is also written up in the latest Debrett's Peerage as well.
I am assuming that since you said your husband's name is Hill, then he is probably a direct descendant of Gillian Denise MONTAGU, born 13 April 1940, dau. of John Edward Coley MONTAGU, born 2 Aug. 1910, married to Flora Elizabeth Robertson-Cumming.John Edward Montagu was the son of Edward Vaughan MONTAGU, born 18 Oct. 1877.
My line of descent is from John Montagu, born 21 Aug 1797,
the Colonial Secretary of So. Africa, through his 3rd son Alfred Worsley.
Cheers,
Karen Repko
