Soule Family Genealogy Forum

Hi, agail, Frank.
Thankyou for your trouble in posting the documentation concerning the pregenators of George Soule. The one thing about geneology and the internet is that it is really easy to be lead down the ROSEY PATH by "often repeated 'facts'".
In my search for my European roots, I investigated this THEORY as well as others that appeared promicing. I have learned, however that no matter how "often repeated", the facts are still elusive. The fact is that nobody knows who the parents of "George" really were. Research by the Kindered Soule concluded that the probability of there being English roots are slim and becoming slimmer all the time as families of these names (Soule,Solis,Soul, etc., etc.) are eliminated from possibilities.
As I was growing up, my Father told me a story about the origins of the man that we call George Soule. I will not repeat it here, but if you are interested, you can read the story on my Ancestory.com site. Go to my "Soules Family Tree" / "George Soule I" and read the story "Who were the parents of George Soule". It will give you a different theory if nothing else. I have learned that Geneologists are hung-up on following family names to trace familial liniage...but there are times when this will not work. This story will reveal why nobody has ever been able to trace the man called George. He simply was successful in hiding his identity from the Gendarime...permamently.
