Hi, Yes! I had found this info some time ago. Josiah could easily be a misspelling of isiae, esp. since this was a US Census, not Canadian. Isaie could have divided his property between his son Thomas and his daughter Philomene. There was a Thomas Cote who was married to a Philomene but haven;t found the marital reord only census records at a much later date. I went to Fredercikton to look up notary contracts as I was told that would be where I'd find thme, but they had none there. I was also looking for a marital cntract between Theophile and Philomene on the chance that the may have signed one.

At some point, I'd like to go to Rimouski and look at the archives there to see what info may be found.

But, then again, there could be two different Philomene's but both with a father named Isai??? There was one other Isai married to Scholastique Dion who had a daughter, Philomene b. 1842 in L'Isle Verte. Their marriage was annulled around 1851 at St Simon, Matane, Rimouski.

By the way, you can email me directly at chymullins@hotmail.com.
