Hello All, I have done a bit of reading through this forum and on the website of Mrs Prince. While researching my families history I found that my aunt dorothy cox (sorrells) had done lots already. As I understand it, my direct line is as such: Richard Sorrells 1 - Wife Mary (gggggg-grand) Virginia Richard Sorrells 2 - Wife Mildred (ggggg-grand) Virginia William Alexander Sorrells (gggg-grand) Virginia James Nathaniel Sorrells (ggg-grand) Georgia James Sanders Sorrells (gg-grand) Georgia Albert Benjamin Sorrells (g-grand) Georgia Prince Albert Sorrells (grandfather) Florida Albert Lamar Sorrells (father) Florida Benjamin Albert Sorrells (self) Florida Cason Albert Sorrells (my son) Florida In my reading I have found that the Sorrells men have historically employed themselves as either soldiers or farmers. My brother and I fit right in... I am a Lieutenant in the National Guard and my brother (Chris Sorrells) works in Irrigation. I have read that Richard Sorrells 1 emigrated from Essex and worked as a (foreman?) on Thomas Jefferson's Montachelo, Richard Sorrells 2 served in the Rev War, William Alexander Sorrells served in the War of 1812, James Nathaniel Sorrells served in the Florida Indian War, and James Sanders Sorrells served in the Civil War. I would like to be able to put together a complete family history 'story'. I am looking to validate the montichelo info, military history above and track down data such as; cities lived in, grave sites, siblings/children, and occupations... Additionally, I would like to know if anyone would know where my line goes once it gets to Essex and if anyone would be able to forward a copy (pic) of the family crest mentioned in previous forum discussions.?... Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time...
