Annette, I am sorry, I cannot help you much at all. Jean was the daughter of James b:abt 1705 and Sarah Boyd, both from the county down, Ireland area. Sarah died before James made the 1753/1756 trip to the US and her last name we cannot find. The Boyd researchers are trying to connect them to the Ballyhalbert, Ireland Boyds, as there is a graveyard there that has a Sarah (Warnock) Boyd buried which states she died in 1754 and was married to a James Boyd of Rowreigh, the younger,(part of Ballyhalbert area), County Down, Ireland. In addition, James Boyd, the younger, is not buried in that graveyard which makes it a possibility that Sarah Warnock is our connection. If it is true there are three more generations of this family buried in Ballyhalbert. However, Jean Boyds uncle, Samuel Boyd, James eldest brother, left a will in 1757 stating that Jean's grandfather was still alive in Ireland. In the graveyard at Ballyhalbert, James Boyd, the senior is buried there and died before 1757. Also in that will there was another brother(David) that was still in Ireland with a family. Can you give me what you have as I have no connection to Prince Charlie at all. William Boyd wboyd4422@att.net Notify Administrator about this message?
