please feel free to e-mail me.my 15 yr old daughter and i try to go to grandma and grandpa's gravesite at least every 2 mos. to clean off the marker (both of their names are on the same one)... there is not a typical "tombstone".they were both buried in a beautiful site off of hwy 249.
i just can't believe that i have found relatives.i have another question.what is our ethnicity? i know we have some french (obviously) and some indian... but i believe that there is probably a bit more than that (i have found that most soniers [all name spellings] are typically of creole/cajun/acadian/black mix)
i used to spend almost every summer with grandma and grandpa (i was closet to grandpa).they lived in cypress, tx.
by the way... i don't know who robert earl sonier is.the only kids that i know of are (in order of birth):
alexander martin sonier
lois sonier (i don't remember her married name)
olin sevan sonier
anetha ray sonier hitchcock
evelyn sonier (i don't remember her married name either)
i think that is the correct birth order (there was a set of twins that died at birth... rumor has it)
lois died when i was a teenager... she committed suicide.
anetha (aunt sissy) died just over a year ago... her heart had severe damage from a virus that invaded it... a very sad day for us... she was very much loved.all of lois' kids are darker skinned... their dad is kinda light but lois was darker also (like a dark olive)
evelyn is a nurse
we have never really understood what olin does... hhmmmm
my dad... alexander (obviously named after his uncle) was in the navy and then worked for southern pacific railroad (he's about 71 yr old now)
this is very exciting... i would love to see whatever you have so far... i started doing this because one of my daughters has been asking alot of questions about our family... and i just can't answer them.
