I have a Caroline THOMPSON b: 1864 ,Tallapoosa Co. AL wed W.H. (Ben) SONES on 26 Jul 1880 Scott Co., Mississippi. Caroline, with her family moved there from Elmore/Tallapoosa Co., AL in late 1869 ( to just north of Forrest- near what is now Harperville, Misissippi).
The 1900 census finds my widower William D. THOMPSON in Scott Co. With him are his son Robert L. (Bob), his daughter Carrie (Caroline) and her husband Ben SONES and their four children Perey, Otis, Alline and Frederick.
Were any of these SONES yours?
I have some more info, including a descendent who lives in FL.
I descend from William D. THOMPSON.
